what service book would I want?

Looked on eBay and I can buy the Factory Diagnostic Procedures Service Manual set with is a set of 3 books about body chassis and power train procedures.

Or I can get the factory service manual.
what's the difference/which one would be more useful for working on the jeep?

Be very careful with the wife mod. Uninstallation can be extremely expensive. Wife mods have been known to take the Jeep and all other mods during the uninstall process. Also, make sure you service your wife mod properly as often as humanly possible. Wife mods not properly serviced may malfunction or uninstall themselves at any time.

If you have to pay for those then I would just pass on them. The FSM is online and free to download.

The only manual worth spending $$$ for is the official Mopar Factory Service Manual which is published for each model year.

Legally?

If so, do you have a link?

Free FSM download, but you have to register first. After downloading you can click on the title or number of each section and it will take you to that section. It's mostly a WJ site, but has all the Jeep FSMs also.

If you prefer a hard copy get either the Factory manual or the one put out by Robert Bentley publications (may be the same thing).
