If it was -15 and I was in Buffalo NY or Grand Forks North Dakota, I'd run a 0W-30 full synthetic. Since I don't and I wheel in temperate conditions, I run a non-synthetic Valvoline 10W-30. The only thing I run synthetic in any more is my automatic transmission (ATF+4) and in my transfer case. I'll never run a synthetic gear lube in my axles, I personally believe (after some surprising findings by companies like Currie) a mineral based GL-5 or GL-6 gear lube protects the ring & pinion gears better.

Royal Purple

I use Royal Purple in both my 04 Ram and my TJ. The best mechanic I have ever known, who happens to be a div.4 NHRA hall of famer, says it is the best stuff you can by. He uses it in all of his stuff. Bart
