What I think is my tranny fill plug, says "DONT REMOVE" on it...and its a torx.

So I'm guessing thats not it.

My drain plug is directly underneath the tranny right? Because I see a 15/16 bolt there, but I also see what I think could be a fill plug (same size, 15/16) which is on the passenger side of the tranny and right above my catalytic converter. Now, every manual and internet review I've seen says the fill plug is on the driver's side of the vehicle....but the only bolt I see on the drivers side at all is that "Don't Remove" torx bolt.

Can't I jsut fill it through the shifter or something There is NO where to find this!

I just searched and saw that on a '91 YJ 4cyl at least, the fill plug is the torx bit, but why would it say "Don't Remove"?

I used a ratchet with a torx socket. Then to get fluid in it i had a pump, but if you don't have one i think the easyest way is to take the top panel off and run a funnel with a tube down to the hole.

I have a 1" body lift so it was pretty easy. I used a ratchet extention and was able to run the extention between the tub and frame.

when i changed my gear oil, i had to borrow tools from the neighbor.. Extra long socket wrench that has the swivel head. Hard to loosen with a short, reguar wrench.
