What happens if I just swap 1.75" spacers for 3" springs and nothing else?

To be honest, I don't care to go much higher. I'm at a total of 3" lift, 1.75" spacers, 1.25" BL.

I'd like to go to 4" and leave it at that(Well... 4.25").

So I've pretty much decided on putting in some 3" springs..

The question is, what problems will I have if I just swap my 1.75" spacers for 3" springs. I have JKS Disco's so sway bar links ain't a problem, and I put on longer shocks than I needed already in anticipation of lifting it a bit more. I also have a small T/case drop and a 1" mml(It just happened to line up beautifully so I left the t/case drop on).

Can I get away with just putting in the springs?

With 3" of lift, new control arms is a good idea. You will also have to drop your t-case or install a SYE/CV.

You may need a tcase drop or SYE/CV driveshaft to eliminate vibrations due to the increased angle. Your rear swaybar will not be at an optimal angle lacking the correct length links. Both axles will shift further off-center without a rear trackbar bracket, redrilling front trackbar, or getting adjustables.

Sorry guys, should have mentioned - I have a T/case drop and a 1" MML.

I'll edit my first post.

How far off center will the axles be? I figure at 1.75" already, it can't shift that much can it?


edit - what about just putting in a 2.25" spacer in the rear? Those don't require sway bar links correct? And it would erase my slope

It will shift a bit when you go to 3", to the point where you have to correct it with adjustable track bars.

I have 2.25" spacers all around without too much axle movement, and I am vibration free with no t-case drop (I do have a MML installed).

Exactly how much I can't say but I'd describe it as significant as I could already see off-center axles with just a budget boost. You have to watch your rear driver's side spring perch to tire clearance. You can get an OME (or any other brand probably) rear trackbar bracket for less than $20 last I checked. The front can be redrilled for free. I pieced together my kit this way and its been fine. The rear swaybar links can be bought seperately - I got a skyjacker set. If I had to do it again I'd just buy a kit though as the price difference isn't that great and you get everything you need.

I did the same thing with my rig. Started out with the RE BB and then swapped out the coil spacers for 3" Springs. FWIW I haven't changed anything else and haven't had any issues.
