Even more amazing is that the X model doesn't have a D44 as an option.Maybe the previous owner had it installed.

The Dana 44 upgrade was available for all TJs with the exception of the SE (four-banger).

Don't think so. It was only optional on the Sahara and Sport, never the for the X and SE.

The JF sticky disagrees with you.
X - 2002-2006
* 4.0L I-6 engine
* No D44 option
* D44 only used with certain Special Edition models (see below)

Ditto...no D44 on the X's.

OP: take a picture of it. It would be awesome if you have it, but since it would mean it was swapped in, I would double check to make sure you don't have 3.07's up front and 3.73 in the rear.

Request a build sheet. Here's a link riponredTJ posted in another thread. I tried it and received a build sheet the next day. Just fill in the blanks and fire it off.

rocky mountain edition had a d44. it was an X model. body color painted flares, some accents in the interior, a decal, and some other crap.

Jeep is strange.RME,65th edition,Golden Eagle ed. have D44 standard.All others don't(exc.Rubi).The Willys should have with all the green and camo stuff.I looked at a Freedom edition that didn't even have A/C.
