What floor jack and jack stands to get??

I appreciate all the advise you all gave me on purchasing the 155 piece Craftsman tool set. Now I am wondering what you recommend for a floor jack and jack stands and the best place to purchase them. I am slowly trying to build up the garage... thanks!

Got a Harbor Freight Tools store within reasonable distance? They have decent 6 ton (3 ton jacks always eventually become too short) jacks and I've had good luck with one of their big hydraulic floor jacks a friend gave me 5-6 years ago.

Yea don't get the 3 ton jacks. Eventually you're gonna want to jack your Jeep up higher and 3 ton jacks don't handle it. I got them because it was a rebate for like $10 at Sears but I'm on the lookout for 4 6 ton jacks.

where were you guys a month ago when i asked the same question, people said a 2 ton jack would be fine for me ,,, now im hating life,,the damn thing only goes up 15 inches, barely enough to even take your tire out if you have a lift

anyways dont get a 2-3 ton youll regret it

A piece or two of a 2 x 12 will solve the short jackstand problem and keeps the jackstands from sinking in your pavement.

I just bought a set from HF from a recomendation here, about 26 for the pair and about $6 shipping, not bad at all (I dont have a HF B&M around me). The quality is great and they serve there purpose. I just put on a REBB with them. Here is a link to them
