Do the other adjustables use a 9/16" taper at the chassis mount like the JKS? Sent from my pocket brick

The more and more you read into it some people are fine with company A while others had no problems with company B but had problems with A. Thinking rubicon express trackbar or currie. RE is cheaper and a lot of people have had good luck with it. Currie has good reviews and seems like a solid unit but I wonder if it is really worth it or hyped up by the internet at all.

Jeeps are like strippers...they should be topless as often as possible.

You can get the currie and add the test of the steering components later or get the RE and make a bastard pack steering config. All up to what the grand plan is.

You have to read between the lines. Lots of people want nothing more than to justify their money spent by down talking the other brands. I've had two RE trackbars, broke the first one after about 5 years trying to lengthen it. I forgot to put anti seize on the threads and low and behold it seized up and I couldn't adjust it. Lucky for me I didn't drill out the tapered hole at the frame so I could put my stock bar back in while I waited for the replacement. Sure its cheaper than Currie, but works fine for me.

I have Metalcloak's trackbar and it requires you to drill out the taper with a 5/8" bit and replaces it with a larger bolt.

Seems like everyone is forgetting that the OP has a dropped trackbar, butnot a dropped pitnam arm, shouldn't that mean he has some pretty bad bump steer?

I have 4 new zone hydro shocks for sale...PM for a price.

Ok as long as theres a good alternative out there that uses the same size or larger taper then Im good. I dont want to install it and have to return to stock size hole and have to weld in a new bracket.

Except RE isn't a good alternative. Metalcloak and Currie (which both required drilling the frame side mount to 5/8") have the best clearances of any adjustable track bar on the market. If you're willing to deal with a subpar track bar just because you're afraid of commitment then by all means, stick with RE.

So what should I have been experiencing with my subpar RE bar over the last 10 years and 100,000 miles with 4 wheeling just about every weekend. Am I having subpar fun compared to others? Wondering if you have had one fail or something? Not just second hand Internet fear tactics started by guys who sell the other brands.
Also, I thought the Currie bar requires 2" bumpstop extension just like the RE bar?

Either way your points are invalid because I have the JKS track bar and if anything I would end up getting the MC or Currie bar. Just was checking to see what the requirements were.

a little shake in the wheel after a large bump or pot hole but nothing too serious. was told by preivous owner that the tires had to be aligned every oil change. maybe its related.

true. more research is the key. Hopefully I can sell my soft top and have a choice between the two in the near future.

For the record if it were me, I'd go with the MetalCloak one if I didn't already go with the RE one. I've never seen one in person so just going off what I read on here.
Don't know what to advise as I don't know what to do with your taper and or double shear setup. I'd try to see if you can put that metalcloak bar on it. Maybe mount in double sheer if the bolt size is doable with your existing bracket. Course that's going on whether it is too much drop, looks like it might drop it an inch or less (not that I know if that is too much or not enough, lol?? Good luck.

Not sure what you think I'm insinuating, but in a strict comparison I would consider the RE bar as subpar.

There's exactly zero good reasons to run those silly double shear brackets. My advice for the OP is rip that stuff off, drill out the taper, install a nice new Metalcloak track bar and be done with it.

I guess I could have worded that better. I guess RE is 3rd place after MC and Currie when it comes to front track bars. Maybe because it doesn't have the same bling of the other two and/or because they are not as active of a vendor on here as MC or Currie. Maybe because they are a big nasty conglomerate and don't give off the small shop feel. I'd say its just as functional as either of the other two, only because I believe it has the same clearance either of the others offers. Just gets a bad wrap because someone somewhere either cut one or bent one and figured its tube size was not up to the task. I have seen the statement on here that the frame mount will rip off before the bar fails. Not sure how true that is. No biggie, sorry if I came off crappy.
Ive never seen one of those double shear mounts in person, but had thought they kind of made sense flipping the mounting axis. Just seems like having it mounted that way could be more appropriate to the motion of the trackbar. Probably doesn't matter though.
