I finished up what I started last weekend.

I had my tires dismounted off my Canyons and mounted on a set of Cragar Soft 8's. I had clearance issues with my ORO steering and the backspacing on the stock wheels, so these were a necessity if I wanted the wheels to spin.

I fiddled with my new springs to get them sitting right and readjusted the new JKS disco's to work with the now correctly sitting Jeep.

Replaced the lower bolts for the rear shocks. The last set was so beat up from the rocks that there was no way to get a nut back on them.

I spent a lot of time adjusting my ORO steering to get it aligned and working properly. It took a good bit of screwing around to get it perfect, but it's awesome now that it is.

What started out as a simple bent drag link and needing to mount a winch, has turned into an event. I generally check the Jeep out every couple weeks before a trail ride, but it's been a while since I have given it a good once over. As I would fix one little thing, I would notice two more things wrong with it. As it sits, it shouldn't see the trail again until she gets some TLC. I hope to get it all done in the next two weekends so I can make one of the big rides happening next month.

Here's where I am at now...

I sold my chrome tube bumpers and side steps and am about to order a set of LoD front and rear bumpers. I guess I will just be SOL for a few weeks if I hit something.

Man Davenjeip.

Thats a huge tire you got strapped to your stock spare rack. What size is it and do you have any sagging of the tailgate?

It's an illusion from the angle of the picture. It's only a 32x10.5.

I have no sagging of the tailgate, but I have to change things to make it strong again.

I've had those tires for just over a year, but they were mounted on stock Canyons. I trimmed down those rubber bumper things so that the tire fit flush against them. That kept everything tight and secure.

I just swapped the tires over to those wheels on Friday night. They are 4" BS, while the Canyons were 5.5". What that means is that I am now nowhere near the rubber stops. The tire will now bounce a little bit and put a lot of stress on the carrier.

I plan to remedy it this week.

Yesterday (5/20) I took the milk jugs off. Cut a 30 deg. section off the bottom corners of my front bumper off and installed a pair of Hella 500 comet driving lights from Wally World.

Bosch platniums. seems to run alot better with them, more responsive, i was gonna stick with the champions but every place was sold out.
hopefully new wires and rotor should make it run even better, but im gonna hold off on that, gotta get my new tires first.

Alarm

Got a motion sensor alarm installed. I came out to my car port this morning to go to work and found my console emptied out into my front seat. Nothing stolen, but I will catch them if they come back!!! I HATE A THIEF
