Tires are the one thing that I haven't bothered with because they need to go. They are 9 years old based on the date codes...

I have long suspected a minor bent drag link fixed by an alignment and adjustment...

I also know that the track bar bushing is showing movement and so now are the drag link ends...

If I wasn't buying a house, already replaced a battery, replacing two windshields, I would be upgrading to Currie... did I mention the Jeep needs tires?

I curse this Jeep worse than a stripper girlfriend with a snow habit...

Wasn't completely satisfied with the level of heat the aftermarket seat heaters I put in my leather ZJ seats were putting out, so I redid them. First I ripped the 1" thick layer of foam stitched directly to the leather out, so the heaters are now flat against the leather instead of being separated by 1" of foam and the factory heater. Then I cut up a mylar space blanket and taped a piece to the backs of the heaters, directing 100% of the heat toward the leather. Not sure how much of a difference the space blanket made vs the foam removal (I was initially planning on testing each separately but decided I didn't want to screw with it all day), but as I sit here test sitting it my *** is starting to hurt, and not in a fun way. I call that success.

OT: replaced my battery over the weekend only to have my alternator give up the ghost today... It seized on my way to work. Smoke pouring from the hood as the belt shredded. Had to get my wife to wake up the kids and bring her Saturn to tow me home. Stole her car for the day to get to work. Picked up a new alternator and belt on the way home. Surprisingly, my 5yr old son actually helped this time. Normally he "helps" for a max of 5 minutes until a neighborhood kid asks him to come play. He helped route the belt and tighten down the alternator. Went for a quick test drive to return the core and we are back in business.

While at the store my son repeatedly asked the sales rep if they had winches that would fit his power wheels truck... I may have to rig something up for him.

Parenting win x2.

I put 10mm class 12.9 screws on the bilstein shocks I installed a few days ago. I really like the new screws and I might upgrade the other side to 10mm from the standard 8mm sometime.

Got my 20" led light bar wired up in all of about 20 minutes while my fiance was getting ready for our date, of which she wanted to take the lj for. All I've gotta say is that per dollar spent on light output these are amazing. Ready to get a 50" on there now, but unfortunately it'll be a while. Anyways my 2◊4" led pods came in today so now I've just gotta get my game plan ready for the wiring into the reverse lights. Suppose I'll just run a 5 pin relay with the reverse light signal being the toggle since both are 18 watt lights and that seems high to be using the stock circuit... another option is a 3way switch ... I've got some time to think about it.

Well after 3 long years I've finally purchased another jeep! Found a 2005 lj with only 39k on the odometer. 1 owner, 6 speed, never taken off pavement. I couldn't be happier to be back!

Not LED's but this link is to the instructions to the PIAA 1500 lights that I have. It has a diagram for install with a 3-way switch into the reverse lights.

http://www.piaa.com/Shared/instructi...0%20Backup.pdf

As for accessing the reverse light wiring, do you have a temp/compass mirror?

Even if you don't, your Jeep may be wired for it (mine is). There could be a wiring loom under the defrost grill on the top of your dash. The end of the loom should be resting just above the glove box and have a white connector at the end facing the passenger A pillar.

IIRC it is the green wire/white tracer or vice versa.

That wiring loom runs down into the dash behind the stereo over to below the steering wheel.

Just behind the stereo is where I tapped the reverse wire for the switch that is mounted on the panel to the right of the rear wiper, defrost, locker switches.
