I drove the Jeep out to Aspen for the start of a week long job. This evening while wondering around, I embarrassed myself in front of a group of beautiful rich women by getting briefly stuck at the start of a snowed over forest road turned cross country ski trail.
Washed it then took 15 minutes to drive down the driveway trying not to get it dirty! .4 mile drive + 6 inch deep puddles the whole way = vehicles don't stay clean long....but I managed it for a change! Then pulled it in the garage and installed front wheel spacers. Now I don't rub at full lock anymore!
started the "quick" dismount of the stock bumper affixed to a frame rail mounted trailer hitch receiver frame... apparently 17 yr old bolts prefer snapping and / or spinning freely when you cant get to the bolt head inside the framerail... don't think I missed any access holes - so a good amount of prybar work, hammering and ultimately taking the sawz-of-life sawzall to anything that would get the hitch frame off... then some more cutting and prying to get the remaining portions off. then test fit the new QR3 hitch frame and bumper... looks much nicer, though there are a couple bolts I need to put on inside the framerails, behind the fuel tank shield that I need to figure out how to get to and get a wrench or socket on to tighten up. hard work is done... just some thinking cap time.
Smittybilt rear bumper? Looks like the one from my YJ.
Filled her up and gave her a bath. She got pretty dirty on an interstate trip this past weekend. It was in the 60s and 70s and bugs were everywhere. And I wanted the hardtop clean before I took it off this weekend to put on the new TrekTop NX sitting in my garage. Also going to replace my wiper blades since the passenger side is toast. I've had those sitting in the garage a few months now as well, just haven't gotten around to putting them on.
I seen somewhere on here, a "swap list" it was a link to a page that showed a bunch of different parts that would swap onto a tj. Could somebody repost it
