Took it down to Discount Tire to rotate and balance and have them figure out which tire was out of round and causing my shimmy. They found the tire so they are going to order a new one for me (for the cost of the certificate). I kind of feel ripped off having to pay for the certificate again since this is a manufacturing defect. I may end up complaining to see if I can get it replaced for free. Also found out that the rim the spare is on is the right bolt pattern but the center hole is too small to go over the axle hub... Damn PO must have switched the rim at some point... Now to decide if I want to buy some new 15x8's or just replace the rim the spare is on... I am currently running 15x7's so I may just go for 5 new ones...

just did mine last week, liked it so much i decided to check the pumpkin on my Suburban and feel compelled to crack that one open and do a fluid change... amazing what a jeep will teach you about your other vehicles... i would never have thought of doing this work on the Sub without having done it to the TJ.

ultimately will be doing full driveline fluid change in the TJ... the 1.x qts (it was pretty low) of fluid that came out of the D35 looked like metal mist black paint... super fine particles.

Installed a new soft top and a under seat lock box. Then touched up all my plastic surfaces and hard top with Penetrol. Made it look almost brand new. Hard top is for sale by the way if anyone is interested.

Penetrol is a paint additive you can find at any hardware store. I got the idea in another thread to use it to restore your plastic surfaces on your jeep and restore your fiberglass hard top. You paint it on with a foam brush. It practically makes the plastic look brand new. I actually also used it on the metal mirrors and it made them look nice too. It's very cheap and a little goes a long way as I was able to do the entire hardtop plus all the plastic with with maybe few tablespoons. My steps were very light dull grey almost white and now there shiny black again. Oh and it won't hurt the exterior paint so long as you wipe it off before it dries.
