I live in CA too (unfortunately) and have never heard of the Highway Patrol ticketing a Jeeper for mudflaps! Guess they don't have enough speeders to catch?

It's better you don't enlighten yourself of our vehicle regulations.

Stay clueless my friend

I don't want to get any unneccesary tickets...I know I need to replace my front license plate since some a55hole thought it'd be cool to collect a Minnesota plate. From what I've been told that's mandatory here in CA.

You prolly won't get hassled since you have Minnesota plates...

I just pulled the unit bearing off, and changed the u-joints with the outer shafts still attached (still had the brake rotors attached with a layer of rust, too). Awkward, but doable, and no 36mm socket required (just the 12-point 13mm).

You use a press to change them or the hammer method?

Like my GrandPappy said, only way to learn is to do it yourself. Even if you break some things along the way.

Figured out why I could feel the Jeep vibrating more as I was driving...
The skid plate was completely packed with ice. It took me about an hour to spray it out with the water hose

Press (Harbor Freight) to get them out, hammer to put them in. I broke a couple caps once with the press, so now I use a dead-blow mallet (also Harbor Freight) and a couple appropriate sockets to gently finesse the caps into place.

I had the exact same thing happen yesterday! Mine was really bad, it even shook at idle.

O/T, plowed 12" of snow from the driveway today.
