Well he already had a small crack in it, but when the heat got to it it shot across the windshield.

Fed-ex man braved the cold and brought me some goodies. Another step closer to Savvy Assist.

The windshield cracking from defrost shouldn't be high up on your worry list.

By that I mean it's a fairly rare occurrence, the heat in mine is rarely ever off the defrost setting in the winter and it's been below zero every day this week when I left for work. Biggest thing that would crack it from defrost is a previous crack or a chip that's been ignored.

I wired a switch to my dome lights (for taking the doors off this spring) and tore my hi lift jack apart, cleaned it , and re-painted it.
Now if I just had a place to mount it.............

No need to worry about that unless it's already broken.

I have mine behind the back seat across the roll bar to keep it out of road salt

New HVAC switch panel and headlight switch installed in the small, 10 hr. window of "warm" weather. It's hard to get any work done on it when it's below 0* for weeks.

Just about froze myself changing the oil and checking the transmission fluid.

Still not sure why it decided to puke out about half a cup of fluid this afternoon but the level is still ok. Only thing I can think of is I had it stuck in 3rd instead of 1st when it was warming up.

Hmm... I've had rock dings on my windshield from year one and they've never spread or cracked with me running defrost. I keep meaning to get them patched up but never get around to it. Free fix on my insurance plan.
