Just pulled my front driveshaft in below freezing weather and immediately discovered it was all for naught. Several laps of the employee lot with my head leaning out as far as I could confirmed it's coming from the rearend. That makes things a lot more complicated then if it was just the front. Pretty sure its a chipped or broken tooth on the pinion gear. Truck and trailer will be here tomorrow to pick it up.

Oh my, the things I would do for a jeep like that...

How many dates have you picked up so far?

OT: planning a complete maintenance overhaul - all fluids, belts, hoses, plugs, the like. Heard some debate on plugs, I have 2004 4.0 which do y'all recommend?

I had that happen a few years ago. I pulled my rear driveshaft and drove for 2 weeks in 4hi waiting to get a spot in the shop to have it rebuilt. It feels weird having front wheel drive but it won't hurt anything as long as you don't have a front autolocker. I wouldn't try to do any burnouts though.

Stacked his tire on my old jeep's front tire to check rear bumpstops but apparently my mother was watching from the window. She came running outside screaming when she saw me crawl up. I had to take him down (to get her to stop screaming) before i could get out to take any measurements.

Sure glad she cant hit hard or Id have a bruised shoulder for days.

I prefer the Autolite XP985 Iridium tipped plugs. They should last you well over 200k.

Make sure you get and keep that top at room temp before and while you put it on. Mine killed me trying to put it on at 50* outside. I put another one on a friends jeep in 80* weather and went on really easy.

Pulled my front and rear shafts to grease them. Also trimmed down a shock boot to cover the slip splines on the rear shaft. Did a good inspection before wheeling tomorrow. Will be the first time out since the bb. Hopefully nothing falls off

I find it easier to leave them in, swear, hit my head at least once, get grease everywhere, & scrape my arms...
