My TJ is my daily driver, so I end up doing a lot of "car-like" mods to make it comfortable. Today, I installed an aftermarket amp so the stereo doesn't sound so anemic. Because it's mounted in the back, I thought it should have a shroud over it.

The base is a piece of pressure-treated ply with some old sweatshirt fleece stapled over it. The aluminum legs are 6061 strips, cut & tigged into shape. The shroud plate itself is just an old "handicap parking" sign I pulled out of the recycle bin, then stuck a couple of 3/8" hole plugs in. The paint is some leftover Rusto bedliner spray, and the logo is a stencil sprayed with some leftover self-etching primer. To keep it from scratching the tailgate, I put some leftover trim molding along one edge. There's a crossflow fan on the right side, hooked up to a 4-pin relay, which is switched by the remote-on wire. Eventually, I'll build a shelf to hide all the exposed cables so it looks a little cleaner. For now though, I'm pretty happy with my junk amp shroud, and the stereo sounds much better than it did yesterday.

Drove around in the "ICE STORM" of Texas. Tires were encased in ice as well as the winch. Also decided to sell it, and look for an LJ Rubicon to build.

pulled the doors off for the first time since summer, and enjoyed the 70 degree weather here in NC. Poser pics inbound.

Changed the front and rear differential fluid and removed the rear driveshaft. Gonna be rocking fwd for awhile until funds pick up and I can grab a new rear axle/gears.

Got my free oil change for life from the Stealership. Bought some new wipers. Made sure the 4hi still worked haha. Headed on a 500 mile trek home in a week.

Hope they actually did it. When mine was new I got the first oil change and lube job for free. Got home and started looking around and noticed the original oil filter was still on, cause it had dirt on it, zerk fittings also had a light coat of road dirt on them telling me they weren't lubed either. Took it back and asked WTH to the service manager, he said I'm sooo sorry I'll take care of that right away. I then said no thanks, if you can't do a simple job like this right what makes me think you will do any other work right? He had a look on his face like and said
