Ordered some parts: trans output seal, tcase input seal, tcase front output seal, Tcase chain, and f&r pinion seals in prep for the sye install. Also noticed that the mounting bracket became detached from the top of the radiator. Im hoping since its all metal, and doesn't leak, a radiator shop can fix it. I'd rather put that money somewhere else.

Didnt post the other day, but I also pulled my re uppers out of the shed and took them apart. They were extremely loose(worse then when I cleaned and greased my lowers). I cleaned, greased, and tightened the crap out of them. I believe that's why they felt so sloppy I decided to remove them.

I actually did this a few months ago but finally got pictures. I have not seen anyone do this but I am sure it has been done. I used the stock spare carrier and a piece of 3/16" steel.

Just have to watch the centering, almost made it impossible to open the gate. I did this right before a back country trip to Idaho this summer, 350 miles of logging roads and it held up fine.

Always bring a compass, it is awkward to have to eat your friends.

No the tire hits the rubber bumper mounted under the tailgate so it does not rattle or move around.

It was over the weekend but you get the idea

Well spent the weekend chasing down squeaky rear brakes and once that was done I went for a short ride and on the way to a friendís house they started squeaking again! Dam it! So while everything was still warm I put the rear end on jack stands and spun the tires, guess what? No squeak. So I then put the front end on stands and spun the wheels and there was my squeak, except that it was under the middle of the Jeep!

So I crawl under it and spin a wheel and the squeak was in the front driveshaft! Itís the cordon (sp?) u-joint at the transfer case. After an hour I get it out and the seal is blown in the middle of the u-joints. Looks like itís time for new u-joints on that driveshaft. Oh joy!

So what did you do to your rig this weekend? LOL
