Welding the suspension brackets on the frame

Welds have yet to be cleaned up - but still looks good. The wavey bit on the top edge is because of the slot / groove to locate the parts to each other that you'll see in previous pictures... Used a bolt with lots of nuts and washers to ensure that the gap between the two plates didn't warp in the heat of the welding.

The front control arms require bends in two different directions. Needed a way to know how much the pipe had rotated in the pipe bender so I made an iPhone holder that clamped to the tube. Worked well!

Control Arms tacked together! MetalCloak's largest Duroflex bushing rod ends and RuffStuff Specialties threaded inserts tack welded at each end. Tomorrow the ends will be seam welded. They don't look that long in these pictures, because they're so thick. Wait til you see a stock control arm next to them.

Cleaned the TB, it was really nasty. Will never run a CAI again. Bought some Castrol ATF4 to change the t-case fluid tomorrow and my FUCA bushings will be in tomorrow as well. Hopefully that and a tire balance will cure my shimmy.
Also started my windstar intake tonight. Waiting on the elbow to get here so I can see how much more I need to cut.

Original radiator cracked by the cap on top. Installed a new one yesterday with a few small issues. Now no puddles of antifreeze under the jeep.

Dreaming about a new backseat fuel cell... Why dont people ever get the plastic ones? Why does everyone run aluminum?

Took the club out to Western MA this weekend. Haven't run this trail in a year, and boy do the UCF tummy tuck/engine skid and MTR/Ks make every bit of difference. Walked over everything. Fell in love with the Jeep again

I'm loving that. Half a tj? As in a chopped frame you are adding to? What are your plans for it, as far as sides and floor? I'm thinking about modding the small hf trailer. Not really wanting to tow behind me on the trail, but more as a gear/tools/firewood hauler to the trailhead. Trying to get a weekends worth of camping gear into a tj with 2 adults and 2 carseats is pretty hard. A rtt would be nice, but at the same time my Coleman hotel in a bag works pretty good.

I didn't realize how busy I'm going to be this week, so I figured I'd do my list of maintenance stuff I've been putting off. Wife went to bed early and the kids were tucked in. Wasn't doing anything too crazy, so I figured I'd do it in the driveway with a drop light, rather then unlock the shop and spend an hr moving crap to make room. Everything went decently good...
Here's what I accomplished:

1) Took apart, cleaned, greased my superflex joints. Tightened them to re's reccomendation "tight" with my home made spanner tool. They said pre-grease, then afterwards it should be hard to get them to take grease(feels like a clog). Somehow managed to get all 4 tightened consistently. They were pretty loose, so it should help. Also had a but on one of the balls, but no marks on the race. Fixed that.
2) Removed seats(for rattles), found out someone pulled the slider handle with them out and the base twisted. Put some 3in1 on the rollers. Found $20 sticking out of the seat
3) Put some hose on the door surround nipples that go into the tub(for rattles)
4) Put paraffin wax on the center soft top bow, where the plastic meets(for squeeks)
5) Tightened soft top bow to cage bracket bolts(for squeeks, rattles, knocks, chirps)
6) Checked axle and t-case fluids. Added to t-case(what a paint, luckily I could run a hose between the body and frame with the 1"bl). Can't see to pour and see the fill hole at the same time. Made a mess. Axle lube is nasty looking, but filled. No water or anything funky, so can wait until I regear at the beginning of the year
7) New air filter. Old one was pretty gross.
8) Cleaned around shift shaft seal in prep for a new one. Idle in neutral confirmed the leak
9) Rotated tires. Set jack stand down on the cord, chafed the wire(and tripped the breaker)after doing rotating 2. Looked at the halogen drop light wrong and bulb blew. Grabbed hat with built in flashlight(was a gift) from the jeep to finish. Tag itched, so I went to cut it out. It was another $20 bill. Spent 20 minutes looking for my lug nuts that got misplaced by the extension cord. Flashlight hat stopped working, rotated last 2 in the dark. That was fun. Got the hat light working. Tightened lug nuts, went around the jeep twice making sure i torqued everything.
10) Added the $40 to my secret mod stash my wife don't know about. Counted up, and I'm $.47 cents short from a mc front track bar shipped. Will order that tomorrow.

Sorry for the long post. Got super aggravated trying to line up 33's on heavy wheels, in the dark, with centercaps that kept catching on all of the wrong studs. Finally some much needed little things. And my jeep will be a couple of squeeks and rattles quieter

Lol'd but damn I wish I came across that kind of cash working on my Jeep, I'd probably work on it twice as much

The money in the seat, I'm pretty sure the p.o., or one of the salesmen at the lot lost it. It was shoved in between the seat bottom and seat back next to the bracket close to the console. The hat I have no clue. I'll ask my buddyif he put it there to see how long it would take for me to find it.

Long story short, wifey was helping run amp wires. A full nude pic of some super hot chick fell out from under the console (which was right in front of her) It didn't come out when we pulled the carpet to clean it. It was a mint condition printout from an sd card. Didn't help it was around the time I was going out of town for meetings alot. Plus I've had the jeep about 7 months at that point. I admit, it looked kinda bad from her view. Things got pretty heated, and I just wanted to put the carpet back. It would make it more comfy sleeping in the jeep. I was smart enough to tell her to look at the date on the back. BAM, before we even bought the jeep. Whoever took that pic, I want to shake their hand. First off, that's gotta be one of the hottest normal chicks I've ever seen(not celebrity), and 2nd because I was hooked up with what was hands down, the best make up sex I've ever had.
