Back home from a 2800 mile family vacation to Colorado. Pulled my TJ trailer; it hauled clothes for 7 and a front fender i picked up while out there.

Stanley are a good brand, like above don't expect miracles and you won't break them, we use them at site on 2 projects and they are holding up. Not much choice out here..

Installed 2" coil spacers and new shocks yesterday. Lessons learned:
1-not having a floor jack and using factory jack from Jeep - SUCKED!

2-Coil Spring compressors are a PITA! (Having never used them before)

3-Man I could use some air tools

4-Buy a large tub of icy hot for next day's recovery.

on a good note- sitting in discount tire getting new 31's put on!

Skidded 50 feet when my wheel came off unexpectedly. Yup...that's my jeep with one wheel off. On my way to work this morning, the left rear started wobbling, so as I turned on the shoulder at 45mph, the rear end fell to the ground and I started skidding. As I came to a complete stop, I saw my tire rolling past me. It was funny, but butt-perking at the same time. I rotated my tires on Sunday and I KNOW (I KNOW) I tightened all the lug nuts. Each wheel also has a locking nut as well. How could I lose all 5 lug nuts? I could see 1 falling off if it wasn't tight enough...but 5? I don't know. It was sabotage, I say!

Doh!

Can you afford the car? Have I provided you all the information you need on the car? Do you like the car? Then buy the car.

So originally I was thinking of getting the Super 30kit for the HP Dana 30 I got this weekend but:
1. hard to source
- only places I found less than 2K for it is 4x4groupbuy (who just emailed me and said they don't carry but would substitute Arb and G2 shafts for ~1300) and Quadratec. The price is attractive for the G2 axles but I have heard mixed opinions on them.
2. 27 spline vs 30
- Still on the fence on this one. Sure with a 27 spline I could swap in a stock shaft if it broke but with 30 I may not have to at all as it might not break and if it does you just pull the shaft, remove the inner shaft and run home with the outer still attached.
- but also with the 30 spline it moves the fuse from the u-joint/axleshaft ears into the ring and pinion and I would rather change 10 shafts than 1 R&P.

So I started looking into others and Ten Factory is starting to appeal to me.
Further decisions. Sigh

When I got home and decided to get into it. Got the following done:
Progress:
- removed the bolts that had the shocks mounted to them (I cut off the shocks at the junkyard to save time)
- removed the coil retainer bolts
- loosened up the hub unit bolts. At 220ftlbs my impact hammer couldn't take them off so I had to use a 22" breaker bar.
- removed axle shaft nuts on both sides
- sheared the passenger side steering stop (BOO!). Noticed the driver side is already removed. Will have to look at that and replace.

So not bad for the first 40 minutes
