We tent camp. When we pack up. the back is full. So it would just be a small box 4'x4' or so. I was thinking on 31's. there are a few builds on here I've looked at. I would really like one of those canned ham travel trailer. That motorcycle trip should like a blast.
I hear ya about filling up the back. Just the basic camp stuff will fill a jeep. then if you want to bring kayaks, bikes or other toys with associated gear, or if you want a big cooler and camp chairs etc etc it gets tough to do it. It amazes me that I can camp comfortably for two weeks with just what I fit on my motorcycle, but family camping now takes an SUV and Trailer to bring it all along. I guess it is just human nature to fill up what ever space we have.
Today I finally fixed my starting issue. Anyone want to guess...? Yep the starter. Even though it was testing fine. Just a heads up: the dealership told me that the battery cables were discontinued and didn't have any in stock. the only option for my 2000 TJ was to build my own. It wasn't too bad. The only kind of weird spot is there is a positive lead that goes to the fuse box that has a unique connection. It is L shaped and connects to two posts. I was unable to salvage this part to reuse. So I had to improvise.
I'm surprised any aftermarket stuff wasn't available. Nothing from quadratec or 4wd.com?
Changed out my entire clutch over the weekend, including the flywheel and the hydraulic parts. Clutches and shifts much better now. Boy, that was quite a project, though, Actually, the part that gave me the most grief was the ridiculous transfer case shifter assembly. The next time I have a reason to get under there I am going to replace it with a Novak cable shifter.
