Did you have the tires high speed balanced? That did it for me.

Took off the softop and put on a new Bestop safari, duster, windjammer combo. I'm not sure if it's up to the task of keeping out the rain and chill. We shall see...

Been tgere, done that. As soon as the shop said it never went on the rack it's your SS I knew they haven't a clue. I know it's an alignment issue, tires are balanced and noting is loose. It's a well know fact that a proper 4x4 front end will have no wobbles without a stabilizer.

Anyone else having trouble with the iphone app not working?

OT: thought i was going to get to take the top off today, but as usual, the weather report was wrong. Gathered the info i need to do the Durango Steering gear switch...now i just have to find time to go to ATL to pick one up, and do the work, and got the call that my other disconnect hardware kit came in...still not sure why they only sent one lower mounting pin in the first place. It wasnt just missing, it was never intended to be packaged..confused

Took a 3 hour Amtrak ride, delayed 45 min, home to get my axle in time. Somebody fell off the train after one stop and EMS had to be called. But, $700 later, what a beauty she is!

Also finally got to see all my new purchases.

Got in the replacement tone ring from JB Conversions. Had a spot of rust on it but I'll let it slide. Way better than the last one. I was tickled when I saw that he paid my shipping by wrapping bills in the packaging.

Not today, but I was able to have Blaine install the hydro assist on my rig yesterday. Took a bit of fabrication to get the ram to fit on my Currie hi9, but Blaine figured it out pretty quick.

Here's the gear box.

Reservoir tank and a mount Blaine made.

Tried to get my windshield bolts out using a screw extractor. Screw extractor broke while it was inside of the bolt. Now I have a broken screw extractor inside of a seized bolt.

Ground down a fin on my Solid diff cover to clear my track bar, no more knocks over speed bumps. Tied up some previous wiring work and adjusted my MC inner fenders in preparation for my anti rock install tonight (if it doesnt rain)

My death wobble experience last night:

I had let it get so bad that I couldn't drive over 40mph.

Dry steering test showed a little play in the TB bushing, so got one. Took off the TB and found that the joint was not in the best shape either, WHY WOULD IT BE , so got a new TB. Put that on.

A tip for you all, if you strap your axle to the frame so the bolt hole won't move, be sure to take the strap off before you test drive

No change.

Had a ZJ tierod to install next. Before disassembly, I checked the toe in...JF recommends 1/16 to 1/8" toe in. Mine was 3/4" toe in Took off the tierod...the joints were about the same as the TB. Noted the draglink joint was similar, but did not have new drag link. Put it back together.

200% improvement, but I still DW'd twice...once around 45 on surface road, then caught one doing about 60 on highway.

Picking up a new drag link at lunch. This should do it.

My stock CAs look to be pretty spongy, but not a lot of slop....yet....I am going to run them out and see if I can get the DW again, then replace.

Additional note: I kind of don't trust the dry steering test as much now...it will show bad bushings, but there was no noticeable play at the joints. My joints were not wallered and turned to dust inside, but were easy to move around and just a little notchy. It is my opinion that in order to find this out, the only way is to disassemble the steering.

jmo.

On topic for today: Drag Link shouldn't take but about 15 minutes to do, then hoping to have enough time to sort a CB install. Then should be done with this for a while, famous last words
