Hard to say. My experience has been that some parts are better to not buy cheap. Things like t-stats and electric parts i won't buy anywhere but NAPA, and I make sure I get the better parts they offer.

so then the real question is what was it doing under the dash of a TJ?? Doesn't sound like standard equipment given the build years of the TJ's to me???

Oh it definitely isn't standard. It was sticky taped in my dash with wires spiced into it.

I finally found out the company who made it so I'm trying to go through them to use it.

well, against the knowledge that much flaming will ensue, I just ordered:

Hi-Lift hood mount brackets...as well as handle isolater, neoprene cover, and a lock. (needed the lock to put me into free shipping )
