Going to get some help and start the install on my RE 4.5" Long Arm / Teralow 4:1 and 2 Low next week.. The wife drove it to work today for the first time since doing my rear axle swap and complained loudly about just how crappy it felt (Rear diff mashing Gas Tank and Shocks are more or less shot)... I was glad that she noticed just how bad it is so when she rides it in again after the RE LA Lift install, it should sink in how much better it is (and justify the cost, although we don't talk specific numbers when dealing with the Jeep project, and I keep track of the finances )
I swapped out my front Dana 30 for a D 44 yesterday. It was a full day. Added about 3 hours delay when we broke a bolt when we were trying to install the RE bump stop on the axle. Trip to the town and lots of drilling and swearing. Only took 5 minutes for the other bump stop after I bought the threading tool, instead of relying on the self tapping bolt that RE says to use. Everything is torqued down and gear oil in the diff. Just need to take the front drive line off to get shortened and connect the ARB air hose.
I took the rear axle out. Also found out that my driver rear D44 shaft has twisted the Splines a little. Looks like it was only where the splines stuck out and were not making contact with the Detroit splines.
