Yesterday I replaced my stock axles that had 3:07 gears in them with axles that have 4:10 gears in them. The rear axle has chromoly steel axle shafts and a Detroit locker in it! It's still a d35, but for $300 INSTALLED, I feel it's a good move for now.
What a difference in power/responsiveness! Make running my 33X12.50's MUCH nicer!! It sure nice to actually maintain speed going up those inclines on the freeway.
Made a pair of quick-disconnect Ram-air wind directors to overcome diminished airflow due to a winch. I'm making a long highway journey (4000 miles) to Ouray, so I'm hoping these will "redirect" more air onto radiator. Hope it works.
