Well...today was a wrenching day. I changed the oil and filter, rotated the tires, changed the manual transmission fluid, fixed my parking brake so it actually stops the Jeep, installed the locker mod and override switch, plus I finished my 700w inverter install...then I took the doors off and went into town to get dinner for the wife and kids.
Went on Craigs list and found a guy who reposted a set of nearly new tires I wanted. He gave me a deal I couldn't refuse, so me and Doug drove to Sohomish and bought them, then stopped at LS to check on wheels. She found them at my local one so off we went. Then a guy who was selling Rubi springs called, so off we went to Hinshaws to meet him, then off to Scwabs to get the wheels and tires mounted. Got home and found right front rim was the wrong offset. Doug bailed while I went back to get correct rim. Got home and installed new rear springs and lift kit arms. Luckily Doug called, so I had him come over to use his car to pull rear axle in position to mount arms. Found out my Ford rim with 32/11.50/15 fits on the stock tire carried if mounted backwards! Now the Jeep sits level, I have an alcoholic buzz, and the Jeep has new tires and Rims! All for $600!
Did some more prep work for my lift install next weekend. Changed the oil and air filter. Rotated the tires, hoping I can get a week on them without the death wobble.
/if anyone in Westminster, Colorado would like to stop by next weekend and trade a beer or two for some tips as I install this, PM me. I think I got it down, but I may be cursing and could use some sage advice.
