For an insurance company, that is probably a total loss... However, for someone with a little time and a few tools, that damage really doesn't look that bad..... Sucks that is happened to your baby, but as others said, sheet metal can be replaced, your body parts aren't replaced so easy.

Believe me that TJ is toast. It is hard from the picture, but the frame is twisted a couple inches(Both airbags deployed as well). Not to mention the T-case being split in half. Insurance is paying me out enough to cover all the upgrades and maintenance I have done since I owned it.
I am all for rebuilding Tj's that were rolled over and such, but I would be further behind trying to get this one straight again then buying one from scratch. Notice the ripple behind the fender flair? The tub is pushed in and out 2 inches as well.

Hate it for you man.
Anyways, today I took the Jeep to the Uwharrie OHV Jamboree. Met up with several guys from Durty Rok Carolina and wheeled. Rain brought the mud, and cleaning is going to suck. Still worth it.

Installed a set of Rockford Fosgate T152s in the Front and rear, after a little trimming of the speaker cover for the rears...these things sound great on my old JVC head unit. Hope to be installing a custom 10" sub enclosure in the center console this week.

Picked up my 14bff today from a 94 Chevy 3500 SRW, 88k miles, held a water tank for power washing. Looks immaculate inside $150 plus $10 for a pair of wheels and tires so I can roll it around. First thing tomorrow morning I pick up the '91 Ford KP HP60.
Let the games begin.

I'd say quite a bit of damage. Look at the tub past the hood and fenders. I can see waviness in the rockers and the the cowl is crumppled. There is nothing on that tub that will ever be straight again. It would be also fair to say the frame is not straight. I'm all for a good project, but if your going to have to swap the tub and frame there is no point.

Who says you have to rebuild it to be street legal? Bent frame and misaligned tub probably isn't going to be a big deal on the trail.

Will they let you have it and the money? Or buy it for nearly nothing? That looks like a trail rig to me...

Depends how you want to drive down the trail lol. You would have to straighten the frame and then fabricate a new track bar mount to even stand a chance. New control arm mounts would also be in the picture, so for the time involved you can pick up something else for cheap.
The tub is still aligned up, but would require a bfh to push it back in somewhat close. It is not rusty, but again for the cheap prices that Tj's could be found in the US for a trail only Rig I don't see the point.
If it was a Rubicon I could see it being a bit different.
Since you guys like the carnage here are a few more shots.

Just got back from a get together with about 50 or so wheelin buddies and MJR forum members. Last nights campfire party was epic
The wheelin today a little busy but a load of fun.
Did the Calico gate keeper thingy again took about a whole 5 minutes to tackle that then we ran a few other trail, shot the **** with friends , later on before heading back home ran into a few buds that had just finished their Jeep projects was cool oggling over those.
Note to anybody building a double triangulated 4 link for a Jeep, brace the crap out of the square 2", 1/4" wall tube that you most likely will use for the crosmember for the lower links. I did and have been happy. Friend of mine didn't broke the tube in the middle, ripped the plates out of the inside of the frame, cracked one lower lip of the frame. Lot of avoidable damage.
Glad I re engineered mine after the first 2 trail rides
Little video of the best part of the day, ignore the squeeking or turn the sound off

Here are some more pics of the miscreants I hang out with.

Ya know that with some Hummer H2 rims or something with the same width and backspacing it will only be 2" wider that the your Jeep is now
