Had to lower the license plate holder and one of the mounting holes in license holder involves drilling into a metal box that appears to go the length (width) of tub. Can't tell whats in the box, if anything - may just be reinforcing.

Anybody have a clue what its for. Didn't measure but its something like 3" square. 2001 TJ. Maybe ought to start another thread so someone sees this.
Just reinforcing. I just took my tag mount off when I went LED. Attached the tag to the swing arm of my tire carrier with 2 self tapping screws.

Getting a valve cover gasket and may trim the rest of the fenders off. We got 12" of snow last night and more throughout the day. Debating whether I take the tj out for some fun or I fix it

A few days ago, bought everything for her BADLY needed tune-up: LOF, plugs, rotor, cap, wires, the whole shebang. And there it has sat ever since. Due to work and unexpected travel it's going to be at LEAST another week before she gets worked on.

...crap.

Big day for the TJ, it's beautiful out today so I set aside making some parts and gave the TJ a spring clean up.

1. Synthetic oil change
2. New breaks all the way around, drums, shoes, discs and pads
3. Washed all the winter funk off and out of it.
4. Polished out the soft top windows (they look damn near new)
5. Emptied a couple cans of matte black on the frame, skids, steering, axles etc. ( under side looks much, much better)
6. Repainted my bumpers and all the tube fenders
7. Rotated the tires
8.Touched up all the factory paint.

She looks 5 years younger!

Put on the steering pump this morning, I had pressed on the pulley last night using a bolt and two nuts. Filled it up and bled it. I noticed there was a squeak and I think it is because of the belt getting covered in power steering fluid. I ended up getting some spray that removes the squeak but it came back after an hour so I liberally sprayed it. Will see if it does it tomorrow morning and if it does then I will replace it.
Today was so nice, wifey and I pulled off the doors and took it for a quick drive. Hardtop has to come off asap!!
Started putting together the list of stuff I need for building my rear bumper and swingaway tire carrier.

Our winter in Ohio was terrible, less than an Inch of snow all winter. (crazy weather!) I really missed playing in some deep snow!
