Between yesterday and today, I got my parking brake fixed. Rubicon with that damn "shoe-in-hat" E-brake.
Yesterday I replaced replaced the shoes and hardware. I found that a spring broke on the drivers side (which got my attention as the rotor "drum" was getting hot) and the passenger's side linkage lever was seized. Cleaned it all up, painted and lubed the linkage levers (so they wouldn't seize again ) and wrestled with the hold-down clips/pins.
I ran out time before work so I didn't get to adjust the brakes until this morning.
NAPA part numbers:
UP-10745-PB Shoe Kit $24.79 plus core
3105 Hardware kit $24.99
Napa doesn't list a hardware kit for the Rubicon, but it's the same as a Liberty.

Cleaned my battery terminals. I started her up this morning and moved it out if the driveway it ran fine, like an hour later I went out to go somewhere and it had a hard time starting (like a dead battery) and staying running. Then got up the road a little and the amp gauge pegged out at 19 don't know it might need a new alternator....

Someone wanted to see the ole '71 model 302 that hopefully one day will find it's under the hood, it's not much to look at now but with a throttle body fuel injection and some blue paint she'll be nice.

So far, ive taken Simple Green and a rag to all the parts Im selling. Shouldnt have taken the jugs off after mudding months ago. I must have washed 3 lbs of mud out of them. Simple Green does work miracles though.

Now its time to sand, prime, and paint.
Also, can you paint the sway bar cover? I have some plastic primer and plastic paint and would like the cover to look good for sale.

Had it towed home from the hardware store after it refused to start. Now I get to pull the starter, and take it in to get checked...
