Picked them up off a guy on Craigslist for $180. The top is in pretty good shape with no cracks or holes, except its missing windows and all the hardware. The skid looks like it might be Clayton but I don't know. Its got a little surface rust, but is cleaning up great and is very straight with no scrapes or dents. I can't decide if I'm going to cut the top up for a hard bikini top like I planned or if I am going to try to fix it and use it.
Clayton's skid only has two bolt holes on the frame.
Picked up a Tuffy single overhead console for the Jeep on Ebay. It's new but missing the key, but that's $10 from Tuffy to replace. Got it for $102.50, shipping will be an extra $25. Figure at the most I'll have around $145 into it. Still not sure if I want an overhead console, but if not, I'm sure I can get my money back out of it.
My new front bumper came, so I pulled off the bent piece of junk and put it on. It's a Smittybilt, which people seem to have mixed opinions on here about, but I don't do much off roading, and got it shipped to my door for under $300, so I can't really be picky. Here's a shot of it on.
Looks pretty empty up front at the moment, but I'll be going light shopping in a bit. Going to put a couple 6"'s where the winch would go and out towards the sides, and it should fill it up enough until I get a decent deal on a winch. Like the look of it, but now I'm going back and forth on getting the matching rear bumper...we'll see.
Had rubicon rocker guards installed, because the hardware would have cost me about $80. So I decided to go to a body shop, the installed them for me for $75 using rivets and bolts for underneath. I say good deal. Next up on order are my drop kick slyders, gonna take two weeks to get them to me.
Ordered my 35" Maxxis Bighorns!!! Also doing a MML at the same time. I'll post pics when I get them installed.
Please get some pics up.. If they can still flex a little with a 3" SL and 1" BL that's the next size I plan on going when my 33's run out.. You also have a D35 rear, are you not worried about that with 35's? Do you have a CV/SYE? Just wondering because I would love 35's if they can work with a 3" SL and 1" BL.
It's easier to go down a hill than up it but the view is much better at the top.
