I changed the oil from syn. 5w30 to syn. 10w30, changed filters from mopar brand to k&n. Got rid of a bad ticking i had at operating temp. Very satisfying day.

Ripped out all the carpet!!! There was a pop-up thunderstorm in Dallas yesterday and I had a safari top on. There was about four inches of water in my floor board when I got off work. I think the worst thing about it was the soggy seats during the hour drive home....

Checked on the shipping status. (Open ocean transit from HI to WA) My Jeep went to sea.

Recieved my build sheet from Jeep and found out I have a D44 rear. AWESOME

(Very prompt reply. Sent Saturday and recieved today. I recommend this for anyone with questions of what their Jeep came with from the factory. Just go to the Jeep webpage and use contact us and the customer service form using your VIN number.)

Got some new toys for the Jeep:

Picked them up off a guy on Craigslist for $180. The top is in pretty good shape with no cracks or holes, except its missing windows and all the hardware. The skid looks like it might be Clayton but I don't know. Its got a little surface rust, but is cleaning up great and is very straight with no scrapes or dents. I can't decide if I'm going to cut the top up for a hard bikini top like I planned or if I am going to try to fix it and use it.

Turned over 103,000 miles on the way to work this morning.

Drove it to my local club meeting last night, and was elected President of the club!

I picked up my tube doors from the machine shop where I had armrests welded on.

I picked up some air fittings for the OBA system I am building.

Can you post up some pics of the doors? No arm rests is my only grief with most tube doors...

Good day for the Jeep.

Picked up a Tuffy single overhead console for the Jeep on Ebay. It's new but missing the key, but that's $10 from Tuffy to replace. Got it for $102.50, shipping will be an extra $25. Figure at the most I'll have around $145 into it. Still not sure if I want an overhead console, but if not, I'm sure I can get my money back out of it.

My new front bumper came, so I pulled off the bent piece of junk and put it on. It's a Smittybilt, which people seem to have mixed opinions on here about, but I don't do much off roading, and got it shipped to my door for under $300, so I can't really be picky. Here's a shot of it on.

Looks pretty empty up front at the moment, but I'll be going light shopping in a bit. Going to put a couple 6"'s where the winch would go and out towards the sides, and it should fill it up enough until I get a decent deal on a winch. Like the look of it, but now I'm going back and forth on getting the matching rear bumper...we'll see.
