Over the last two months I have been taking care of rust and repainting as I go along. Still have work to do in the spring when the weather breaks, but here is it so far. Went with WWII OD. Waddya think?

Went wheelin had fun

My wheelin bud just finished his latest round of modifications this week, so of to the mountains we went today to stretch ole Betsy her legs and she how she is doing.
Made for a fun afternoon, nothing to exciting just a nice put about, we are so lucky that the nearest trail is only about 35 mins away. Cannot beat some nice fresh mountain air.

Where'd you get the lower steering shaft? I've been looking for one, but haven't had much luck with getting the right one. The last one that I ordered wasn't even close to the one that I needed, even though the seller (from eBay) insisted it was the right one...

I put new pins in the door hinges, and will be putting new hat bushings in the hinges themselves on Monday (they're on their way here!!).

I did the outside, took less than a gallon of paint. Will do the bumpers and inside next year, plus the detailing (stars, logos, etc.). It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun as well. Getting compliments from people at work who aren't even into Jeeps. I think Jeep could bump up sales if they brought the color back.

fixed a warped front axle the hillbilly way using a flourecent tube as a guide and some welding

Here is the flourecent tube in the axle going thru the seals

put some welds on it on the oppisite side of the bend

now its better, the inner seal should now seal.

Got pulled over on the highway after 4 hours of wheeling (legal land) with the club, and the NH State Police officer took my license/reg, asked me where I was coming from, and told me to "wait here"... came back 10 minutes later and told me nevermind, but that a grumpy old man had called in to the local police repeatedly about people driving through the woods. The state cop told me not to worry, we were on legal land, and apologized for the inconvenience. But really? Pulling me over on the highway 30 miles from where I was wheeling?

Then came home and drove around in the snow storm winching trees out of the road.

Just grab some paint and do it yourself, it's easier to touch up?
