Changed out my muffler as I have to get my inspection this month and also tired of hearing it leaking. Got a Thrush Turbo for $30 bucks @ Advance. Did some other mock ups for my Rock Sliders and still not sure how I want them. Just know that I want to build them and then I know they're Made in the USA!!! Now me and the Better half are going to a club Meet & Greet at QS&Lube.

Rotated the tires, last time i did that i drove a 1/2 and it wouldn't stay on the road, so i put them back. Since then i have replaced everything on the frontend and only got a little wobble around a few curves at about 50, but the Duratracs went from relatively quiet to sounding like super swampers. Guess the uneven wear going from the front to the back did it! They have 20k miles on them and the po never rotated them.

Finally got the remaining parts from the dealer, so I was able to finish installing the new exhaust manifold, downpipe, cat, muffler and tailpipe. Also got the heater core finally installed, reinstalled the steering column and put the dash (mostly) back together. First time the jeep has run in a month! sounds nice and quiet. Missed the brake boost vac line and had an idle issue, but that was easily fixed with help from JF search. My airbag light is on, but I think that it is the clockspring switch, form what I have read. The switch assembly is a bit loose.

The rig is still a mess, but mechanically is much better. Still need to fix some messed up wiring, top off coolant, re-tighten the manifold bolts, and put all the trim etc back in.

Installed a nice shiny new class III hitch. Just can't figure out what the deal is with those damn handle nuts. I just rolled them with pliers and tucked em up into the frame.

Today I went from this:

to this:

and ended up with this:

Tomorrow seal up the edges. I have the d-ring shackles coming in the mail and should have them hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday. Tube for winch guard is also getting bent by a guy in my local club.

Went wheelin at a local bunny trail, it was fun. Of course had to fix my buddy's heep first, it spit coolant at him and gave him a few somewhat
painfull burns. Once I got the fan working and some water poured in the radiator, we could air down and do some putting about.
His ole CJ did pretty darn good, the ole beast flexed pretty good for something on horse drawn wagon springs.
We met only a few other Jeepers and had a royal good time blowing through the trail. I got to to try out my grooved and trashed Krawlers that I bought for a song and am happy with those.
Here are a few pics of my buddy's CJ

Pulled the front axle out, cleaned all the brackets and old truss. Prepped for the new mid arm front.

I checked the rotor and cap, as well as plugs 1 & 5 to see if there was anything wrong there...nothing seemed out of sorts, though.

Wouldn't TPS throw the CEL on if there was a problem? CEL isn't on, and didn't come on through the drive home. Though I found out that the front passenger U-joint is shot, too...

Bought it and brought her home

2006 Rubicon Unlimited

It's pretty much stock right now. Looking forward to getting this built up the way I want it. I have been lurking here for a few months now and have done plenty of reading so have some ideas. In it's future are new rims or powder coat the stock rims, 33's, some kind of lift which I have yet to decide on, new bumpers and a winch.

I plan to do some smaller stuff first though, a cold air intake, new antenna and switching out the chrome headlight surrounds.

First up though is to get out on some trails and beat her up a little

Installed my new rampage frameless soft top, love it and if you follow the directions and wait for a warm day it goes on no problem with just one person. It looks sweet to IMO
