drove it up to my dad's an hour and a half away to pick up my new to me canoe. driving home ran into a serious storm with no doors or roof. got so serious (and cold/wet), that I stopped under a bridge for a bit. but now, I'll be doing even more outdoor activities with the Jeep

Yesterday I changed the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. She's purrin' like a kitten again...
Today, I just ordered a new steering shaft (upper and lower) as well as a starter. With any luck, I'll be able to get them in before next weekend.

60k service and major maintenance. total bill is $2,000 who knew it needed so much?
oil change, tune-up, front & rear brakes, transfer case service, front & rear diff service, air induction service, air filter, cooling system service, new front pinion seal, lube clutch linkage, new serpentine belt
wow, looks like my savvy ultimate 3" short arm lift will have to wait until the spring.

Someone needs to learn to turn a wrench, or at the very least, discover Stu Olsen's Jeep Web site and all the step by step write ups the include lots of photos that he has posted to his site. $2k for 60k service

Yesterday I put in 1" spacers up front to level her out. 100% better in my opinion!
When I was putting her back together I snapped the tapered bolt on the driver's side sway bar link, so I got familiar with how to change those. (Pain in the BUTT! The thing was stuck HARD!) I picked up two new ones, so I'll probably change the passenger side out in the next few days.
In any case, LOVE the new, more leveled look!

$2000? Bummer man. After that "investment", I say you invest in one of these:

Changed the water pump. Got tired of the leaks but hated to break down and do the job. One day, last week, the floods came so I had no choice but to change it out this time. Wish I had done this a while back. Sounds like a new motor now.

Might want to reconsider that.. unless they are for looks. Not to be a debby downer but if you hit something with those guards on.. its gonna dent your tub. Id rather break a 10 dollar tail light then bend my tub.
