Hood lift mod

The one thing i always hated about my jeep is that stupid hood crop. Every time you have the hood you have to crop it up, or lay it right back.. So i did this little mod.

Made a bracket that mounts to the ground strap bolts on the fire wall, the other mounts to the center hood.

And up and away the hood goes.

Good idea with the hood lift. I've seen a kit to do this but it was super expensive. How did you know what gas lift to get?

Used a lift arm for a hood lift from a ford 250 super duty, worked great, but the high lift on the hood was a little heavy for it.
If you are going to mount a highlift on the hood then use # 4837 Strong arm gas charged lift support.

scottywags gave me the push I needed to finally paint my fender flares. They're crappy phone pics, but here's a comparison and the finished product.

This is genius. I'll certainly be doing this soon.
