Tuned my 4' Firestik so that I can run it on those trails that don't allow for my 102" whip. This thing had never been tuned and I am gonna run it with my spring so I had to trim quite a bit of wire to get it down to a nice 1.1 SWR with minimal variance between 1 and 40. Now I can just grab my 1/2" open ended wrench and swap them.
next weekend I install the other 102" whip on the other side of the Jeep, then I'll have to buy and tune another Firestik, sigh.
Finally washed off the dirt from a wheeling trip a couple weeks ago. I'll try to give it another wash, or two, this week to get off all the grit so I can give it a fresh coat of wax to get through the winter with.
Had yet another valve stem replaced and cleaned the sticks out of the bead of the tire. Took longer than it should because my old Wal-Mart special jack finally hit the point of being dangerous, so I replaced it with a 3 ton from Harbor Freight(wow, what a difference ).
Going to try and get a start on the projects that need done for my next trip in a couple weeks. I'll swap out my bent tire carrier for another one I have. Also, going to rebleed the brakes, change the oil, and check my maintenance log to see if I need to do any of my other fluids while I am at it.
