BTW my wife is mad that I bought Tube Fenders while my garage door is broken. For some reason she thinks we should have it fixed.

It's not my first choice, really, I'd prefer the one Manik produces, but it's still fairly close, and I haven't been able to any a single Manik for sale. I do agree though, this is what's wonderful about Jeeps. There are hundreds of parts out there, so you have a pretty good selection when it comes to parts, whereas with other vehicles, you may not get it looking exactly how you want to, just because the parts you want don't exists

Last night I finished up the fab work required to remedy the problem with the LCAs hitting the spring perch / shock mount plate and limiting down travel. I cut a section out of the spring perch / shock mount plate. Then I welded in gussets that I made from 1/4" plate. Then I used some 12ga flat stock and made some lower shock mounts. The shock mounts eliminated the bar pins and raised the bottom of the shock 2" to allow use of the added down travel from the plate notching. The 1/4" plate gussets are indicated by the red arrows in the photo. The other pic is of the driver's (right) side shock mount. And before I get a bunch of "the shock is crooked in the mount" comments; that is because the suspension was at full droop in the pictures. I'm thinking I still want to add some limiting straps to help protect the shocks and LCA brackets from possible forced over extension.

Be very careful with the wife mod. Uninstallation can be extremely expensive. Wife mods have been known to take the Jeep and all other mods during the uninstall process. Also, make sure you service your wife mod properly as often as humanly possible. Wife mods not properly serviced may malfunction or uninstall themselves at any time.

Not today, but saturday and sunday.
Went to jeep fest and scored a MV-50 air compressor, Hella 500FF Fog lights, and some poly screw in bumpstops.
Sunday I installed the lights and modified the compressor a little to make more multi-purpose. I cut off the screw on tire inflator and installed a female quick disconnect on that end of the hose. I then setup a clip on tire chuck and a blow off tool. I think I'll be adding a tank in the future....

Nice! I love the placement of the JeepForum.com sticker, btw
That cross-dash bar looks like a giant pain in the ***, as it prevents you from easily removing the top panel to let you get at the rest of the dash/console. Is it really all that necessary?
On Topic: Dropped her off at 87 Gear to get the gears, lockers, diff covers (while they're at it), and Super35 kit with C-clip eliminator installed. Picking her up Friday afternoon when I get back from a work trip.

Lol I have no idea if it's all necessary, but it WILL be a royal pain if I ever need to remove the top panel.
