Took out the back seat, in preparation for installation of a stealthbox into the seat frame, hoping to remove the center console today, and install some decals.

Homemade Instatrunk

I confess I stole most of this idea from someone else on this board - sorry I can't remember who to give the credit. My Instatrunk just wasn't big enough so I made one based off that design.

First I traced the pattern from the IT where it fits to the tailgate to 1/2 plywood:

[IMG][/IMG]

Cut it out and checked for fit:

[IMG][/IMG]

Cut out a back piece and screwed it together using a 2x4 to brace it.

[IMG][/IMG]

Got a roll of 6'x8' charcoal indoor/outdoor carpeting from Lowe's for $17.

Homemade Instatrunk 2

Traced out and cut carpet and used my electric stapler to attach:

Here's the hardware I used - about $7 worth:

[IMG][/IMG]

Drilled and countersunk for the eye hooks so exterior carpet would be smooth:

Pretty complete here:

Changed the spark plugs:

I am unsure how long ago they had been changed... if ever. The gap was burned off by .035+ on all of the plugs.

The other day I put in my Alpine deck, taken out of an SUV I had traded in. Now I have the Ipod connected and love driving the Jeep even more!

Took off the chrome grill inserts and started spraying the exhaust manifold bolts with liquid wrench.
