I ordered some IPF Fatboys to complete my headlight conversion. They will replace the Silverstar bulbs that I have been using. The Silverstars actually did a decent job. I cant wait to try out the fatboys.

well, let's see...

finally getting away from stock...ordered the RE bb, did the high-beam/foglight override...installed my new CB and antenna (not working yet, needs to be tuned)...installed trailer wiring harness....took off the floaties on the bumpers...

my buddy came over yesterday and was running little street treads on hiss TJ...even though i'm only running 30's, my TJ looked huge next to his...now i know what every other lifted jeep feels like when they pass my little jeep...

Added to my pile of parts getting ready for my lift, tires, gears, and axle swap.

So far I am up to:

Clean Explorer 8.8
Detroit for 8.8
4.88's for 8.8 that have to get swapped for 4.56s
Install kit for 8.8
RE bracket kit (Came today)

Still waiting on my lockright for the front, gears for front, and install kit. Then it will be time to buy my lift, wheels, and tires. Gah so much stuff

right about now... it should be getting 4.88 gears put in, a detroit locker in the rear, a replacement front driveshaft u-joint and a couple minor engine issues taken care of at my favorite 4x4 shop.

She'll be ready to for some revenge of a certain mudhole when I get back from Yemen!!

Grill Inserts

Got rid of my "dealership installed" chrome grill inserts. A little bummed that they had rubbed some paint off.

Guess Im gonna have to get a winch to cover those rubbed places.

Changed my plug wires. Annoying "puh" disappeared from my idle and no more hesitating from a dead stop. A/C Delcos came out and Bosch from Autozone went in. They were probably in there for 40K or so.

I tried to order some MT-90 for the AX-15, but the local Advance or AutoZone couldn't do it. I'll try summitracing.com.

Out to change the fluid in the rear axle...

EDIT: That was the foulest smelling fluid I've ever drained from a vehicle! The gear oil was black, filled with silt. It must have been in there for all 122K.

First sunny day in weeks here, finally took my doors off. Driving without mirrors is a little strange so I'm going to have to get some movers, but man.. the jeep was meant to not have doors.

You get more jeep waves without doors too

Since the stealership finally fixed the door leak (replaced the door) I decided to jsut take the doors off today. Installed the mirrors I bought from 4wd.com. Great experience... you certainly get more waves w/o doors...

Question though, where can I get some black bolts to use instead of the patriot blue painted ones? I sort scratched the paint off of the stock bolts and they dont look as good anymore...
