Popped my Rubicon's offroad cherry ... Well kinda

My Rubicon was a chromed out mall crawler when I bought it and didn't have a scratch on it so I know it has never been on a trail before I got it. Hasn't been offroad yet because I am still building the bumpers. I Found a off camber hill while trying to find a house and decided to try and get up it. Well I did it in 4LO with the lockers and got on two wheels teetering (no discos yet) and had to claw up it because it was pretty steep.

It wasn't really all that hard core but it was just enough of a tease of the capabilities that it's really making me want to go play now!

Installed a AEM cold air intake kit with 1" throttle body spacer on my '99 4.0L. Very easy install and WOW what a difference in power, highly recommend this intake to anyone looking. I have the new rock hard rear bumper too but hafta see what this snow storm is gonna do before I try and install that out in the cold.

changed the factory spark plugs out to Autolite APP985s yesterday. Figured after 51k miles it was about time

The Past Week

I have replaced U-joints in rear drive-shaft, Replaced pinion seals twice, remove diff. cover cleaned and re-sealed. Removed back seat and carpet, removed the small lower portion of the front flares. Moved My KC's from the front bumper to the windshield mounts. Put the top all the way on.

Yesterday I removed the hard top, installed the safari bikini, windjammer, and duster. Then swapped my stock diff cover for a Riddler.

Fun thing is I get to swap the covers back now that the Riddler strikes my track bar, Yeah!

Weather was so nice to day I went out and bought new spark plugs for both the TJ and the 03 Liberty (Champion 2214 and NVG Platinums respectively). Broke one on the TJ so I have 5 new and one old. They don't have any left until Monday so I will have to go with that until then. Got both vehicles replaced. The Liberty plugs looked way older than the TJ's but I don't know the history of it so I figured I may as well. I think changing from what looks like Platinums to the Champions improved performance. Not a lot, could be psychosomatic though.

In the last two weeks:....
fixed the AC
pulled the carpets and detailed the interior
pulled the dash to clean all the spaces in between
planned a sound system install
planned AUX lighting
fixed the back up lights (and appearently ABS too)
replaced my headlights


having everything work better than when i first got it 4 years ago it feels like a new car. i am stoked!

pinion seals front or rear? i need to do my rear one, ive read up on it but was wondering how easy it was and how it went for you.
