What to check for when buying a used np231 w sye?

I found a used t case out of a 98 tj with a sye! Price is 250 but are there any noticable issues I should look for since I can't install it until I get a new shaft? Besides the obvious leaks? The price seems a bit high for this reason especially since I can't see it in use. Any input will be helpful thx

If I was looking to buy one, I would bring a pair of big vice grips and shift it through all positions and spin the yokes. Make sure it's all looking happy, no grinding, etc.
