What axle upgrade?

I'm ordering my lift this week or next (4.5" RELA kit and all that's needed for it) and will after the first of the year put on some 35's. I'll upgrade to 4.88's front and rear, but I'm wondering about the axle upgrading in the rear? I talked to Jason and redrock and he says he's run 37's on a Dana 35 rear, 30 front so I'm not going to get a Dana 44 unless I find a junkyard one lol. Wondering if the Super35 kit will be good? I've looked at the c-clip eliminator for the 35, but can't find a 27 spline? I'm worried locking the rear would put too much stress on this DD even if the jeep doesn't wheel more than 2 times a month...sometimes not even a month at all. Mostly the jeep sees mud, tellico, and hill climbs...if you do recommend a locker/axle kit then which one and why?

GET RID OF THE 35 and go with a Ford 8.8. In stock trim the 8.8 is good up to 37" tires.

I think you just answered you own question. You'd be wasting tons of money if you were to upgrade the 35. For what you'd spend in upgrading the 35 you could have a 60.

So for roughly $1500 I could have a Dana 60 with locker and 4.88s? Wish I could find that deal lol. How much should a used Rubi 44 run me?

Anybody out there actually modded a Dana 35 and not just someone that replaced it because of "hear-say" from someone else? I've talked to several people that say a c-clip eliminator with 27 splines is enough for 35's on a DD that isn't wheeled too hard...and some people say Super35 kit is enough?

oh where to begin.....

Keegan, I'd like to throw an obscenity at you but fear it would ruin my reputation. So, i'll just say SEARCH and learn....

Blanket statement
A Dana 60 on 35" tires sucks as bad as an 8.8 with 31" tires

Mr 2007
Has anybody modded a D35.
Well yes, many of us have. Many of us have beaten the ever loving **** out of them without failure too.

heres a 4 linked, trussed, welded Super 35 with a c-clip eliminator.

Leared nothing except a few new cuss words (that I'll never...nor do I want to use ) and that the poster on there was an idiot lol. Could you sum it up for me? I'd rather not look through the trash that guy put out to find out why it failed...but I did see how he got the jeep on its side...

if you run a 60 you need at least 37's to drag that anchor through the mud

my buddy runs Q78's on a stock 35 with 4.88 and a richmond powertrax and super 35 kit no problems ever

he got it on it's side then righted the truck by turning into the ground in reverse. This loaded all the pressure on one 30 spline shaft and it failed. But, The ring and pinion survived. I had to get that in for all the haters out there.
