What all needed for 2.5" suspension lift TJ

I have a 2004 TJ Rubicon. I'm looking to add on a 2.5" suspension lift with a couple of buddies. The kit comes with essentially springs and shocks. But I was wondering if anyone knows if I need to get also add a longer brake line, new control arms, etc. I know the Rubicon has a stiffer springs, so unsure what else I may need to get. Thanks.

There are plenty of ways to lift your jeep 2.5", but if you want to do it correctly, then it will cost more, but will perform very well. I consider my build correct so here's what I have--

Rough Country 2.5" spring lift
JKS front adjustable track bar
JKS rear adjustable track bar
JKS quicker disconnect sway bar links
JKS rear adjustable sway bar links
Extended bumpstops

I just ordered my JB Conversions SYE and will be installing that and a new CV shaft when I drop my Rubi D44 rear in. Also on the list are a full set of Currie adjustable control arms with Johnny joints at both ends. That's how to do it correctly. With your rubicon, you won't need an SYE but will need a CV shaft if you don't want to have to drop your transfer case skid plate, which is the WRONG way to do it, unless you don't care about losing the clearance you just paid hundreds of dollars to gain.

Nothing everything you need is included. No need at all for SYE kit till you go over 4" and your stock control arms and track bars will work fine. The info listed above is not wrong just not needed.

Cool, thanks for the info. I know I don't need a SYE because it's stock on the Rubicon and I'm under 3". I'll hold off on brake lines and stuff until I get coil spacers.

Correct....you don't need it. If you want to do it and be done, I would just recommend going with the RC 2.5" lift. It's priced so well that it really makes going with an inferior spacer lift a stupid idea.

Planning on the RC 2.5" lift and coil spacer lift down the line when I can afford to upgrade to 35" tires. And yes, I'll bring the beer.

For about $700 you can get what you need to go 2.5" My suggestion is to go with the OME suspension lift kit. Comes with springs, shocks, TC skid lowering pucks, Bump stops, and rear track bar relocation bracket. The ride quality is far superior in my opinion. I've had mine on for 2 years with no wear issues except for a slight vibe on accelleration. I run 31" MT's with no probs. A front sway bar disconnect would be recommeded if you wheel at all. I'm up in the air about the SYE kit and CV driveshaft. After two years with the 2.5" lift, I do notice wear on the rear driveshaft ujouints. Think I may add the SYE/CV to help reduce the stress on that setup. Many say you don't need the SYE/CV with a 2.5" lift, but I would prefer to get the TC skid back where it belongs.

do you want to just get by with a 2.5" lift, or do you want a comprehensive package?

if you search, you'll find this: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/6158437-post40.html

the Rubicon does not have a SYE stock. it would have to have a Slip Yoke in the first place to eliminate it
the Rubicon has a NV241OR with a flange mounted single ended cardon shaft and a harmonic balancer:

My mistake, thanks. I knew I didn't need a SYE. Thanks, so what about a rear track bar?

That much lift won't move the axle enough to bother anything(1/4") but if it bothers you get a relocation bracket from RC or someone else.

very complete list to get the max performance out of the lift.
