Weird squealing noise in front
I have a 2004 rubicon with a 2.5 inch lift and a 1.25 BL. I have a weird squealing noise in the front. It only does it at 30-50 and intermitently also. Its worse when its cold outside. I thought it was a U-joint but I dont think it is as it isnt constant. Ive replaced the belt and pulleys as well and the noise is still there. Ive lubed the entire front and its still there

Do a search on "angry sparrows". Your symptoms sound like that could be a possibility. When my centering ball assembly was on the way out you could just about use the noise for a thermometer. Above 38-40 degrees there was no chirping.

My vote is for angry sparrows. Have you eliminated that as an issue? My 2005 got it at about 13K miles.

Don't mean to hijack but I had a similiar thread. I took my front drive shaft out and it's not making the noise (angry sparrows). My question is- would my 2.5" suspension lift put any strain on the drive shaft?

No, a 2.5" lift shouldn't put a strain on the drive shaft. |

took it out and it stopped. I took it to the dealer becasue it's under warranty but they're screwing me over here and trying to get out of any work because of my lift (they're telling me the 2.5" lift is putting a strain on it). I told them to leave it out and I'll re-build the driveshaft myself, we're only talking about u joints and centering ball, etc. It's an '06 and pretty much has the same coils and tire size now as a Rubicon and we both have the same driveshaft. Thanks for easing my mind though.
abeshures- sorry for interrupting your thread. I was on hold with the dealer and needed a quick reassurance

I hope it isn't why mine did that! I had a bad loud squeeling at high speeds.I looked underneath and found my 2nd wife under there.I should have checked stuff out before I remarried and got another Jeep.Sell it incase it's a similar problem.Works better than a skid plate for rough areas.

whats also weird is that it only does it once in a while. I can go all week and no noise. Then i can go all day with it. I lubed all the suspension parts and double checked everything. It only started doing it with lift and new tires.
