The art car parade is a pretty big deal here, draws a crowd. There is even an art car museum here.

i have the general lee horn. five horns in total
i mounted a bracket from each end of the poles under the hood....this way all five are facing the grill and are out of the way... i have pictures but i still dont understand how this forum works yet... seems very inconvenient compared too most forums.

I have a Stebel compact horn & love it ... I also upgraded my 2 stock horns for 2 louder horns so, all in all I run 3 horns.
The 2 other horns are just a bit bigger than my stock ones and are louder. But, with the combo of all 3 it sounds great! Sounds like a train horn but not as loud as one. Those Stebel compact horns are pretty much like the Wolo compact horn but the Wolo has less db. I wanted the highest db. rating I can get without using an air compressor. I believe the Wolo one is 118db. The Stebels compact is 139db. I recall seeing a compact horn like Stebels at Advanced Auto Parts & I noticed it said 139db. Those horn usually run about $35 to $50+ for them compact horns & its well worth the money for the way it sounds. 100x better than stock & will turn heads when you blast it. I don't know how it sounds just as is but with the 3 horns I run... It Rocks!!! It's one of my favorite upgrades on my jeep but, I still rather have a true train horn that runs off of an air compressors. I would get them but, I have no room for the compressors & don't want the horns to be clogged off with mud when I offroad. All I can say is .. I Love My Horns!!!

Stebel makes a new 300Hz single tone version, that has the low, loud tone of a semi. (a much deeper tone than the dual, higher pitch version) But apparently they are sold out. 2 of these under the hood should be sufficient for the Atl, GA traffic. Anyone know where to get one? I mean 2 ?!?

Train horn rules!
Quote:
Anyway, I upgraded to a triple tone train horn from Air Horns of Texas. Great customer service. The horns fit behind the rad no problem on my JK and I tucked the compressor behind that (idiotically located) wub woofer in the back with a quick-connect in case I ever really need the room. It's a bit too loud on the horn switch so I added a second valve that I can control to provide a softer sound, which is still way louder than the stocker. I just about crapped myself when I accidentally set off the factory alarm once though... I'll post the complete explanation and pics when I get to 50 posts on the site, next year sometime I guess.
