My 98' horn sounds like it should be in a Buick LeSabre. Wish I had a high pitched beep beep.

I wanna rig up a setup to have dual horns. (on a selectable switch)
one mode would allow the wheel horn to be an old CJ/Willys "Beep Beep" horn, and the other switch position would turn that same steering wheel into an activation for a truck air horn ![]()

If you really want to go nuts on the horn, try this (I wouldn't though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiWNw0A1Ijg&feature=related
Personally, I do want a train horn in my Jeep, but I want it on an actual pull-line, if only because I want the stock horn for little warning beeps, like when someone cuts a little too close, but I would like the train horn for actual "watch the **** out!" warnings. For whatever reason, it's popular here for people to try and make left turns in intersections when it's green, but to try and beat oncoming cars instead of just wait another ten seconds and not get killed. What's worse, is you can just tell when they're about to pull out and you have a 1 second window to lay on the factory horn and flash the brights to stop them from pulling out right in front of you. I really think a train horn (or other super loud one) that also flashed the brights when used, would be a lot safer. |

I have the same horn as the wolo but called a different name. The stock horns and the air horns blow when I honk. I think I paid $35 for them on ebay, I put them under and behind the front bumper facing down and forward. Great investment and is very loud for a compact air horn. I would love to have an air tank and a nice train horn but very impractical for me.

You can all have the best of both worlds you know. I wired my truck air horn setup to a solenoid valve that is also activated by the steering wheel horn button. I also replaced the stock baby horns with a slightly better one (but still a "normal" horn).
Then I wired everything to a 3-way switch on my dash. I can now select truck horn/normal horn/no horn. The best part about the air horn is whenever it's at the shop/car wash and someone presses it inside it scares th $%#& out of them. When I had my tires mounted I sat in the waiting room listening to my horn blow for ten minutes while everyone took turns playing with it. |

i just swapped my stock 03 horn with a dual horn out of an 05 caravan. Its just a normal dual horn but it sounds so much better. I didnt want to switch to the air truck/train horns so this works good enough for me. with a little modification, it fit in the same spot as the original one.
