water pump help

Hey everyone need some help. The last post I made was about my water crossing and how I had water so high it made my dog started to float away and he took a crap. After that I started to hear some noise and the best way to describe it is that my tj sounds like a diesel. How I have had some of the members help buy telling me it could be my water pump or fan clutch or other ideas. Well it is my water pump and my question is how hard is it to do it myself? And how much does new water pump cost. I have seen them for around $85. So if anyone has a write up on this that would really help.
Thanks everyone,

Hey, To remove the water pump its not that bad at all. For me i found that the easiest way is to remove the fan shroud and Radiator and then go to your local autoparts store and rent a fan clutch removal tool. After you have the Fan Clutch and radiator out all that is left is a few bolts, (the bottom one is the only one that is difficult to get to but not impossible). Pull the old one off and bolt the new one to it. Replace the fan and fan clutch then put the radiator and fan shround in first. Make sure you put the shround over the fan before putting the radiator in b.c if you dont it doesnt fit. bolt the radiator up then fan shroud and replace the belt. Not bad at all takes at most 2 or 3 hours to do. Now for the cost i got mine at Orielys for 65 i believe, I got the new one with life time warranty tho. Not a bad deal at all. If you have any more questions just PM me and ill do my best to help you out.

Bookmark this site, it is handy.

Go to Drivetrain, then part way down the page for TJ waterpump replacement.
