Water in the Driver's Side
I have half doors that came on my '05 Rubicon. I don't like the plastic zipper uppers, and I didn't want to have to buy full steel doors for the winter, so I recently bought a pair of used Bestop glass slider uppers, which I was pretty pleased with. I figured these would be the best of both worlds.
Well, we've had a lot of rain here the last few days, and my driver's side footwell is drenched. I've been trying to hunt down the source of the leak, and my best guess is that the water is seeping in past the weatherstripping where the uppers meet the windshield frame. Has anyone had a similar problem? Even better, does anyone have a solution? I did a search, and I see that a lot of us have wet feet. This stinks. ![]()

I have the same problem (except on the Pass. side) went for a ride in the rain this weekend. The water comes in mine at the anchoring point area for the roll bar.
I loosened everything and RTV'd the hell out of it. We'll see when it rains again.

I didn't check behind the seats. I will look when I get out of work.
As for when it started: That is a good question. I'm almost positive that it started after I put the glass sliders in. I haven't had the Jeep for that long, though. Where is the anchoring point area you mention?

Sit inside it with a flashlight and have someone spray the heck out of the door with a garden hose and try and see where it comes in at. Another trick we've used in the shop is to drench the outside with soapy water, like you are washing it, and then sit inside with a flashlight again while someone sprays compressed air around all the seams and around your upper doors. Look for the air bubbles coming thru.

Great idea. Thank you! I will try that as soon as possible and report back.

On my half doors, the water leaks around the base seal, and around the holes that secure the door top. It then drips down the inside of the door, and exits at the insert behind the door pocket and onto the floor. If it's not coming out from there, it leaks around the door and finds weakspots in the weatherstripping. Silicone dressing is your friend here. Keep those seals and the seal surfaces free from ALL contamination!
I found my leak by taking apart my door after a hard pressure wash carwash.
