Wagoneer D44 swap into my TJ
Ok...I am far from understanding on this and I may be purchasing a set of wagoneer D44's and i have questions on the swap. I am gonna do the rear first so I want to concentrate on that first...Can i use my stock spring-shock-trackbar-control arm brackets and put them on the D44 or do I have to have a kit? Also do I need to change the driveshaft? My jeep is a 04 TJ with 4" RC lift with transfer case drop. Does anyone have a spec sheet by chance that would help me or have done it already and can give me instruction on it? thanks for your help

I just changed rearends in my tj, the rear one was fairly simple, I bought all new brackets for the link bars and the springs and used the original sway bar brackets. you could cut all the brackets off your original rear but it is a bit of work and they are not near as beefy as the new aftermarket brackets(rubicon express). driveline should be close to the right length also the wagoneer is a 6 on 5.5 lug pattern which means new wheels.

Yes you can reuse your existing brackets but I wouldn't recommend it. If you are already spending money on this conversion why not do it right. The aftermarket bracket kits are a lot beefier and will hold up to a lot more than the wimpy stock ones.

Plus you'll have a hard time selling your axle if you have all the brackets cut off it.
