I am having a hard time locating a specific Mopar part. (Yeah, I know. A similar part can be found at my FLAPStore, but I detest rubber parts by Dorman and the locals do not sell stuff like Goodyear, which is too expensive for the locals, I guess.)
I need two emissions 90º rubber elbows. I have a 50 State 2003 TJ Sport 4.0L with the three cats and the system where all three are on one very expensive pipe (meaning the main cat is not bolted to the U-shaped pipe with the two mini cats).
I list all this because I know how wonky the emission setups on these can be. I have what had been listed as a California system, but it is later, I think the first year that it was called 50 State, and it is a little bit different from most TJs. Yes, I hate it. But it is what I have. I want all new rubber on this TJ, and these two fittings are badly rotted and leaking. The POS Dorman stuff I was able to find locally collapses uner vacuum and, despite what it says, I seriously doubt it will hold up to the fuel fumes anyway.
I need the real-deal Mopar parts, but my 2003 Parts List does not list them anywhere. (NOT SERVICED - Great. Just great.)
In the photo there are three vacuum fittings on the side of the intake manifold assembly just below the throttle body. The rearmost (to the right, still covered in brown dirt) is that long, thin hose with the two valves that runs from the intake to the firewall, across to the grommet for the heater, then proceeds down to the charcoal container in the passenger fender. Please note that I just ordered a new one of these, so I am ONLY looking for the two rubber elbows in front of that smaller fitting. They are not the same size. And one has a different size on each end.
I think I have an adequate replacement for the middle one now, but would like to have a *real* one.
The front one, however, has the big leak and must be replaced soon. I cannot locate an adequate replacement locally at all. I just get a lot of head scratching from the local counter guys. "Well, gee, we yoosta sell them thangs, but I ain't been seein' none in a few years now. Joo try over at da NAPA?" Why yes. Yes I did. They sent me to you.
Ugh...
What I am hoping go find are the actual Mopar part numbers and names/descriptions. It seems these two parts have changed names in the D/C world over the years, though they are common to several vehicles.
Anyone?
Bueller?
