Used Hi-lift For 40$ -- Should I Buy? (not A Listing)
Ive got this guy whose gunna sell me a used hilift for 40$ bucks. Its a 48"er. Theres minor rust on it, nothing too bad. I was gunna wire it down and then hit it with some flat black when I got it home. Do you think this is a good find, or jut buy new for 70?

As long as its in good shape...why not? You can get a new one at tractor supply stores for $50-60. As long as it works with no problems....I say go for it

If its a red one with a black handle then get it, if it is the black one witht the red handle then you may not wnat to. The black ones arent made quite as well, and in my experience it is the black ones that stop working with mud and water in them sooner than the red ones(Looong story). Either way Hi-lifts are great adn useful, if you do get it you will never have to worry about crawling around on the ground to change a flat tire. Instead you will look like a pro at the side of the road and your girlfriend will be inpressed with you cause you changed a tire in all of 8 minutes without even getting dirty. Not to mention it has been my primary extraction device for years, I still have the same one I did when I was 16 and it has saved me dozens of times. In the end it is up to you, its a great jack and you shouldn't live without one.

Is it steel or cast? You want the cast (red) jack. TCS has them for $55.00 new. If it's cast tell him you have 35 to give him and see what he says. If it's stell let him keep it. A used highlift works better than a new one. They do need to break in sort of. Bob
