Upgrade advice??

I am pondering some upgrade options after bending my output shaft on my transfer case. By the beganing of June I should have about 2400. I am wondering if I should just SYE my transfer case and get my rear D44 and regear or if I should upgrade my T-case to a NV241 or an Atlas 2. Will the NP231 be strong enough? Mostly I am itching to get out and wheel again.

Your Tcase is much stronger than your D35... People run them on 35" tires with the NP231 all the time without problems, what are your plans for the Jeep?

Definitely do the Dana 44 upgrade first, the stock 231 is more than strong enough once you get that SYE kit in.

I want to drive to work and still be able to play some in the rocks.

do the sye, get some type of a rear axle, and does your lift have upper adjustable Cas in the back?

Also maybe selectable lockers and gears, and you'll be nicely over your budget.

But back to your question, you'd be better served with the 231 SYE, and a new rear axle them dumping all the loot into an atlas or other new tcase. At least in my opinion, and that's assuming your 231's case/other internals aren't damaged.

(I just did the rear 44, sye and a few other things. Now have to wait a while for gears and lockers)
